The difference between healthy veins and varicose veins
Blood is used to carry oxygen and nutrients to your organs, tissues and cells through the circulatory system. Without it, you wouldn't be able to live, eat, breathe or sleep.

Causes of occurrence

The veins found on the outer layers of the skin are called superficial veins. What else leads to varicose veins?
- Overweight. Due to the extra weight, the legs have to carry extra weight.
- Lack of movement. If you sit or stand for long periods of time, the veins become tighter as they push blood through the circulatory system to the heart.
- Age. The older a person is, the weaker their blood valves are, so in older people they no longer function as they used to.
- Pregnancy. When a newborn develops by stretching the uterus, it presses on the veins. The situation usually improves 3 months after giving birth.
- Hormonal changes: Hormones usually change during adolescence, pregnancy and menopause. This is why varicose veins are more common among women. Hormonal contraception and hormone replacement therapy also increase the risk of varicose veins.

- Calf Raising- while standing, slowly raise your feet and then lower them to the floor.
